The Crazy 5 in Five saw The SR Group employees, and some of our wonderful clients, running five half marathon distances for five consecutive days - all for charity, with donations split 50/50 to Sport Relief and our chosen corporate charity of the year, Anthony Nolan.

We are a small company (350 worldwide), but we did something huge. This challenge was thought up and is being driven by one of our employees who came up with the idea in 2016.  In March 2016 we had just over 100 people take part in this crazy challenge and we raised just over £20,000.

In 2018 we had more people taking part, many of whom have never run a half marathon before. We are making it very inclusive and offering a 10km option. It is a truly global challenge and our colleagues from New York, Dubai, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Milan, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney all took part. We are also joined by some amazing “Crazy Friends” including a team of over 15 runners from law firm Stephenson Harwood, and also teams from RPC, Hogan Lovells, Freshfields, Rocket Network, Helaba, Mayer Brown, Invest Industrial, Freud Communications, and Anthony Nolan.

Each run started at 7:15am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. The Friday run, coinciding with the Sports Relief celebrations, will commence at 2:45pm.

The 13.1 mile route has been devised to take in some of the most iconic sights in London – the river Thames (north and south embankments), Horse Guards Parade, St James’s Park, the Ritz, Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, Buckingham Palace, Westminster and the London Eye.

We look forward to the bigger and better 2020 event!
