We know that building a diverse, inclusive and equitable workforce is important to our clients. It is just as important to us. That’s why we’ve invested in a global, long-term project to reform our DEI practices.

Our goal is to ensure we offer both our clients and our candidates first-class support, access to meaningful tools and resources, and take a people-first approach.

The evolution of our Belong initiative 

Belong is the name we’ve given to our DEI initiatives at The SR Group – it’s the umbrella brand under which we talk both about what we do internally, and how we support our clients and candidates with inclusive hiring. 

Commissioning a DEI consultancy

Belong began in 2023, when we commissioned a specialist DEI consultancy to help us audit our business, identify the gaps and design a long-term roadmap for change.

An inclusive leadership culture

One of the priorities on that roadmap was an inclusive leadership culture. We ran more inclusive leadership training as a result and redesigned our career competency framework to reflect more inclusive behaviours.

Gather to Grow sessions

We introduced ‘Gather to Grow’ sessions, open to all colleagues, with guest experts hosting workshops and webinars on various aspects of DEI.

Employee resource groups

As part of our new governance model for DEI, we launched Employee Resource Groups to provide support, foster inclusion and create safe spaces for employees who share common interests, backgrounds or protected characteristics.

Our first Belong network

Our first Belong client network launched in Amsterdam. This forum connects talent acquisition professionals across a range of industries in the Netherlands to discuss strategies for inclusive recruitment.

The Inclusive Hiring Toolkit

We launched The Inclusive Hiring Toolkit, a resource pack created in collaboration with the InterLaw Diversity Forum.

It’s designed as a toolkit for law firms but with wide-reaching application for businesses in any industry. Download for a practical hiring checklist and roadmap, and downloadable templates to support inclusion at each stage of the hiring process.
